Popular Video Games & Consoles

Throughout the history of gaming there have been multiple staple games, franchises and consoles that have been bookmarked and will always be remembered. For example, the first Mario brothers came out in 1986 alongside the Nintendo Entertainment System. While not everyone has heard of the NES, 9 out of 10 people know about Mario and his iconic “Yahoo!”, and Mario games are still coming out to this day. Other examples of iconic video games include the Call of Duty franchise, Minecraft, Legend of Zelda, and League of Legends. These games are staples for their genre and revolutionized the way that games were made and forever changed the gaming industry.

Consoles such as the Nintendo Entertainment System and the Atari 2600 brought gaming to the home instead of the arcade. Then we got to the console wars of the early 2000s with Nintendos consoles battling Sony's PlayStation and Microsoft's Xbox. Of course you can't leave out the computer from the equation also. PC gaming is more popular than it ever has been since consoles have been so hard to get recently. PC gaming, which is valued for its flexibility, superior graphics, and access to all titles instead of console exclusives, along side of cross-platform gaming, allows gaming to be more connected and accessible than ever before.
